Curve 33 & Skywalk Adventures at the Thai-Myanmar Border 🌍

<center </center

Hello everyone 🌸

Last week, I drove through the countryside in the early morning, surrounded by the beauty of nature 🌿. My destination was the famous Curve 33 , a road that has recently become a popular spot for travelers. Curve 33 is a small rural road in Ban Mae Kon Ken, Mae Sot , not far from my sister’s home. Its unique bends resemble the number “33,” which is how the road got its name. Every day, tourists come here to enjoy the view and take photos, but on weekends it’s even busier.

The scenery changes with each season, bringing different colors and moods to the landscape. During the early rainy season, the surrounding hills are covered in lush green cornfields 🌱. I had always wanted to see it at that time, but only found the chance to visit last week. By then, the corn had matured and turned into shades of brown, creating a different atmosphere — not the fresh green I imagined, but still beautiful in its own way .

I arrived at Curve 33 around noon, just as the heat of the day set in ☀️. A few tourists were driving by, but not too many — which gave me the perfect chance to capture photos of the winding road without any cars in sight. By now, the cornfields had already started to dry, and it won’t be long before the farmers harvest their crops. Soon, the area will look even drier, but still carry its own rustic charm.

Because of the intense midday heat, my phone — which I was using as my camera — started to overheat 🔥📱. It even began to lag, so I couldn’t take photos for long. I had to place it back inside the car with the air conditioning on, letting it cool down. Once it was ready again, I stepped back out to continue capturing the beautiful views of the area.

After my phone cooled down, I finally managed to capture the iconic view of Curve 33 . Standing there, I could see the winding road stretching through the golden fields, curving like the number “33” itself. The mix of green hills and dried corn created a rustic yet beautiful scene — a reminder of how every season paints the land differently.

This yellow road sign marks the spot, and it has become a favorite photo point for travelers 🚗✨. It felt rewarding to stand there and take in the view, knowing I had finally made time to visit this place I’d been dreaming about.

After taking photos at Curve 33 , I continued driving towards the nearby Skywalk viewpoint . From this spot, the scenery was breathtaking — with wide open skies above and layers of mountains stretching into the distance ⛰️☁️. It was the perfect follow-up to my stop at Curve 33, offering a different but equally stunning perspective of the area.

From the Skywalk viewpoint , the scenery opened up into a breathtaking panorama. Rolling green hills stretched into the distance, with the river winding gently through the valley below. Beyond that, layers of blue mountains stood tall under the cloudy sky — a view so peaceful that I found myself simply standing still and soaking it all in 🌄.

The combination of the lush fields, the flowing river, and the dramatic sky made this spot unforgettable. It felt like a reminder that sometimes the most beautiful places are found in the quiet corners, away from the busy tourist paths.

This area was once used as a military base , since it is located right along the border between Thailand and Myanmar. In the past, soldiers were stationed here to help maintain order, as the region faced issues with drug trafficking and illegal crossings . Today, what remains are reminders of that history, blending into the landscape that is now more peaceful and welcoming to travelers.

Standing here, I couldn’t help but reflect on how places change over time. What was once a space of conflict and defense is now a viewpoint where people come to enjoy nature and take photos — a transformation that adds another layer of meaning to the trip.

At the top of the Skywalk viewpoint , a tall Thai flag waved proudly in the wind 🇹🇭. From here, the view was even more impressive — endless green fields, winding rivers, and distant mountains fading into the horizon. It felt like standing at the edge of two worlds, with Thailand on one side and Myanmar just beyond the border.

Of course, I couldn’t resist taking a few photos with the flag behind me as a memory of this special spot 📸. Sometimes, simple moments like these — standing on a windy platform, smiling at the wide open sky — become the most meaningful parts of a journey.

My short trip to Curve 33 and the Skywalk viewpoint turned out to be a journey full of both scenery and meaning 🌿. From the winding roads surrounded by cornfields to the wide-open views at the top, every stop reminded me how special this borderland truly is. The peaceful hills, the flowing river, and even the traces of history left behind by the old military base made this place more than just a tourist attraction — it’s a place that tells a story.

Traveling here gave me time to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the beauty that often hides in quiet corners. Whether it’s the dramatic sky, the proud Thai flag waving in the wind 🇹🇭, or the simple joy of taking photos to remember the moment, these little details made the trip unforgettable.

If you ever find yourself in Mae Sot Tak province , I truly recommend visiting this area. It may not be the most famous spot in Thailand, but it has its own charm — a blend of nature, history, and peaceful landscapes that will stay with you long after you leave. 💛
