-Una semana después de su frustrado viaje al pueblo del Murmullo, Heriberto Quintales, y Antonio Lombardo, se encuentran por casualidad en la taberna del pueblo de El Amor, la cual se ha convertido en su cuartel general, compartiendo tragos de ron.

-Mientras sufren por amores perdidos, se dan cuenta que comparten una nueva obsesión: la hermosa joven asiática que vieron bajar del buque de la CFC acompañada de un niño pequeño, su hermanito.

-Impulsivamente, los dos se habían arrojado al río al escuchar sus gritos llamando a “Alberto” desesperadamente, quedando mojados como un par de soquetes

-Ambos convencidos de que se trataba de una muchacha china, cada uno la buscó por separado sin éxito. Recorrieron la calle de los chinos en el pueblo, almacenes, comercios y hasta la lavandería del viejo Chang, suponiendo que buscaría trabajo con los de su raza, pero no hallaron rastro de ella ni del niño llamado Alberto.

-Esa misma noche, ebrios, confiesan su interés mutuo por la chica y deciden unir fuerzas para encontrarla. Acuerdan comenzar la búsqueda al día siguiente en el muelle, tras la misa dominical, después del pacto se marchan cantando una improvisada y desafinada canción sobre encontrarla.

-A la mañana siguiente, durante la misa dominical a la que asiste prácticamente todo el pueblo, la joven entra con su hermanito de la mano. Su presencia causó revuelo, pues todos sabían que los chinos no profesan la fe católica.

-Heriberto y Antonio se alegran de no tener que ir al muelle a buscarla. Al terminar la misa, Quintales logra acercarse primero gracias a una distracción de Teresita Aguirre que intercepta a Antonio.

-Con aplomo, Heriberto se presenta como empleado del banco y le ofrece ayuda. La joven responde que se llama “Flor Lins”. Encantado, Heriberto la invita a un algodón de azúcar para ella y su “hermanito”. La respuesta de Flor lo deja helado: “Alberto es mi hijo”. El joven banquero disimula su sorpresa.

-La búsqueda había terminado de la forma más inesperada, pero ahora se abría una nueva interrogante, dónde estaba el esposo?

-Tan pronto como Juan Pablo y Pedro José se quedaron solos, abrieron la carta que su tío Juan José “el pizzero” les había dejado.

-Un sentimiento de sobrecogimiento los invadió al leer las primeras líneas: si estaban leyendo esa misiva, él ya estaba muerto. El tío advertía que, si su muerte o desaparición había sido en circunstancias extrañas, seguramente estaba relacionada con uno de sus misteriosos “casos S”.

-En la carta, Juan José les pedía plena confianza en la abogada Nana Contreras, una profesional joven, valiente e inteligente a quien no involucró en los casos S para protegerla, recordando la pérdida de su novia Gilda. Les dejaba a su criterio si la ponían al tanto, pero advirtiendo que serían responsables de su seguridad.

-Consciente de las dificultades económicas de sus sobrinos, el tío les ofrecía una salida: tomar las riendas de su agencia de investigaciones. JP, reportero de investigación, y PJ, experto en informática, tenían las habilidades necesarias.

-Les recomendaba estudiar algunos manuales que dejó en su apartamento, para presentar el examen de investigador privado y trabajar inicialmente con seguros. Les daba un año para decidir, tiempo en el que recibirían el pago del seguro de vida. Además, les pedía no alquilar la pizzería a nadie y esperaran el regreso de su amigo Giuseppe Sanna. Giuseppe había sido un gran apoyo tras la muerte de Gilda, 30 años atrás cuando le alquiló la pizzería.

-El punto más importante era el acceso a los archivos confidenciales, los casos S, el password estaban guardado en su caja fuerte cuya combinación era un acertijo personal que solo ellos podían resolver.

-Las primeras dos cifras correspondían al día que JP despertó del coma y el día que PJ sufrió una caída en Cerro Ávila siendo rescatado por su hermano JP.

-Bienvenidos a su segmento favorito de BIG NEWS. Hoy reseñando el capítulo de esta semana de Vampire Wars, los dejo con M, nuestra linda experta en conos, gatos y vampiros, con todos los detalles.

-Muchas gracias “mi huesos” comenzamos: La princesa Mirna Polietkova guía al vampiro rumano por un corredor subterráneo hasta una cámara circular que funciona como un pequeño coliseo privado.
