Holiday Preparations: The Bikes Are Almost Ready for Oberwiesenthal

The holiday is getting closer, and the excitement is slowly starting to rise. This time, our destination will be Oberwiesenthal.

Oberwiesenthal is located in Saxony, in the Ore Mountains, close to the border with the Czech Republic. The town is well known for the Fichtelberg, its mountain landscape and, of course, winter sports. But for us, it is also a great destination for a motorcycle trip. Roads, views, fresh air and a few relaxing days away from everyday life.

Before the trip can start, the motorcycles need some preparation. The luggage has to fit properly, everything has to be mounted safely, and nothing should move around while riding.

So we spent some time in the garage and adjusted the bikes for the upcoming trip. It is always a good feeling when the motorcycles slowly change from normal everyday machines into real travel companions.

The luggage rack and the mounting points are now ready, and the first test already looks promising. Of course, before a longer ride, it is better to check everything twice. A loose bag on a motorcycle is something nobody wants to experience on the road.

We also tried a small fun detail: a tiny red shoe on the side stand. It looked really cool and somehow funny, almost like the bike had dressed up for the holiday.

But as nice as it looked, safety comes first. The shoe was unfortunately a little too small and did not sit securely enough. So after the photo, we removed it again. Sometimes an idea is good for a picture, but not for the road.

Now the preparations continue. The bikes still need their final check, the luggage has to be sorted, and then it will finally be time to start the journey.

We are really looking forward to this trip. Oberwiesenthal, the Ore Mountains, the roads, the landscape and a few days on the motorcycles. That already sounds like a good holiday.

A few impressions from our preparations

Urlaubsvorbereitungen: Die Motorräder sind fast bereit für Oberwiesenthal

Der Urlaub rückt näher und langsam steigt die Vorfreude. Dieses Mal geht es für uns nach Oberwiesenthal.

Oberwiesenthal liegt in Sachsen, im Erzgebirge, ganz in der Nähe der Grenze zu Tschechien. Bekannt ist der Ort vor allem durch den Fichtelberg, die schöne Berglandschaft und natürlich den Wintersport. Für uns ist es aber auch ein schönes Ziel für eine Motorradtour. Straßen, Aussichten, frische Luft und ein paar entspannte Tage raus aus dem Alltag.

Bevor es losgehen kann, müssen die Motorräder natürlich vorbereitet werden. Das Gepäck muss ordentlich angebracht werden, alles soll sicher sitzen und unterwegs darf nichts wackeln oder verrutschen.

Also ging es erst einmal in die Garage und die Motorräder wurden für die Reise angepasst. Es ist immer ein gutes Gefühl, wenn aus den normalen Alltagsmaschinen langsam echte Reisebegleiter werden.

Der Gepäckträger und die Befestigungspunkte sind nun vorbereitet und der erste Eindruck sieht schon ganz gut aus. Vor einer längeren Fahrt kontrolliert man aber lieber einmal mehr als einmal zu wenig. Eine lose Tasche am Motorrad möchte wohl niemand unterwegs erleben.

Eine kleine Spielerei haben wir auch noch ausprobiert: ein kleiner roter Schuh am Seitenständer. Das sah schon richtig cool und irgendwie witzig aus, fast so, als hätte sich das Motorrad für den Urlaub schick gemacht.

Aber so schick es auch aussah, Sicherheit geht vor. Der Schuh war leider etwas zu klein und saß nicht sicher genug. Nach dem Foto haben wir ihn deshalb direkt wieder entfernt. Manchmal ist eine Idee gut für ein Bild, aber eben nicht für die Straße.

Jetzt gehen die Vorbereitungen weiter. Die Motorräder bekommen noch ihren letzten Check, das Gepäck muss gepackt werden und dann kann es bald endlich losgehen.

Wir freuen uns wirklich schon auf diese Tour. Oberwiesenthal, das Erzgebirge, die Straßen, die Landschaft und ein paar Tage mit den Motorrädern unterwegs sein. Das klingt jetzt schon nach einem guten Urlaub.
