Monochrome Nostalgia

I am an amateur photographer who captures images with my cell phone camera. Over the past few years, I have discovered that anything in our daily lives can become meaningful if it is portrayed with intention. Depending on the angle, light and focus, the message an image can convey can be powerful.
I am experimenting with black and white photography. This is something that requires some experience with light management.
Sometimes the absence of color can express many things. Sometimes it can bring out beautiful details, sometimes it can give a sense of times gone by, even melancholy and nostalgia.
As I told you, I love photographing nature, but I have started to find a subtle beauty in abandoned houses. Why this taste? I don't know, maybe it's because their structure honestly shows the elements with which the walls, windows, columns, floors were built.
On other occasions, I have found very old but still inhabited buildings. Photographing these structures, even though they look deteriorated by the passage of time, makes me play with my imagination, thinking about what this structure would have looked like in its glory days.
Among the structures I am beginning to photograph more frequently are abandoned buildings. I have come across several of them in my travels over the past few months. When I ask the locals, they tell me that these are structures that have been unfinished for many years. It is not a work in progress, it is an abandoned building. I imagine that over time the deterioration will show.
I still have a lot of techniques to learn, but while I'm experimenting with black and white photography, I'm having a good time, I'm having fun! 😃😃 😃
