Token Humanity Protocol plummets by at least 80% after hack

Humanity Protocol is experiencing one of the biggest crises in its history after suffering an attack that resulted in losses exceeding $32 million and a more than 80% drop in the value of its Humanity token.

The incident occurred after the private keys of a Humanity Foundation member were compromised, allowing attackers access to funds linked to the project.

According to reports, some 17 wallets were compromised. The perpetrators began selling the stolen tokens in exchange for Ether and also minted 100 million new Humanity tokens on the BNB Chain network, significantly increasing selling pressure.

As a result, the token price fell from approximately $0.67 to a low near $0.03, before partially recovering to around $0.16.

The company recommended that users temporarily suspend use of its cross-chain bridge and liquidity pools while it investigates the incident with specialized security firms.
