Autumn Hike at the Foot of Hohenstaufen on the Ostalb

October air filled my lungs as I hiked in Germany's Ostalb district in 2012. The route took me through valleys and over mountains, with Hohenstaufen Castle a constant presence in the distance. I captured this photo during that trek, a memento of a day exploring breathtaking scenery.
