Emotional Support Cake (With Extra Marshmallow Violence)

Okay, so remember those cupcakes I made not too long ago? The ones with the pastel frosting and the softest crumbs ever? Well… this is the same recipe. Just supersized. 💅

I made this cake myself during my baking class, and honestly? I’m still kinda shocked at how cute it turned out. It’s got the same soft sponge, but I used a different frosting.

I used the exact same technique and ingredients, just multiplied the quantities to turn it into a full-sized cake instead of individual cupcakes. :D

Topped it all off with colorful marshmallows and those little swirled icing peaks that I may or may not be obsessed with now. 🧁✨

It’s kinda crazy seeing how the same recipe can come out differently just by changing the size and vibe. Like… cupcakes feel playful and casual, and this one? This one’s ready to go to war….as an emotional support kitten. :

This is actually two separate cakes with chocolate filling in the middle. I don't think it's very fitting because of the vanilla cake we made, but the teacher knows best!

...Or does she?

GAHAHAHAH I HAVE A STORY!!!!!

So while all the other students had their cakes out, one of mine was still in the oven because it was ever so slightly under cooked. The teacher walked away to the bathroom.

But here's the problem.

If you used to be on Hive and read some of my posts, I burn myself A LOT when I take things out of the oven.

It's the same in this case.

So I waited for the teacher to return, but she didn't. Apparently she takes her good ol' time peeing. 🙄

So once I was 100% sure that the cake was fully cooked, I put a toothpick in it to check if it was ready, and as I thought, it was. I scrambled to find something to protect my mini baby hands from burning. I eventually found some gloves and took my cake out. It was slightly browner than the other one.

Maybe because it was in the oven longer?

Gee thanks a lot, Captain Obvious. I had no idea. 🙄

I took my cake into the classroom where everyone else's cakes were, cooling down so we could add frosting.

This friggin' frosting stuff gets on MY NERVES.

The amount of time it took me to lather that white frosting on there, making it smooth and making it look good, is embarrassing. Well, yes, the rest of the students were struggling too. I felt like I was doing the worst out of everyone for some reason.

After an agonizingly long amount of time, I got it looking decent and thought some texture wouldn't hurt. It gives this cake some character. 😎🍰

The teacher handed out piping bags, filled them up with extra frosting she prepared while we were icing our cakes.

She guided our hands one by one to create nice peaks around the cake, then let us go wild with mini marshmallows. 🤪

My mama came a bit early and had to wait a few minutes before we got to go home because I was too busy contemplating throwing that mini marshmallow at my classmate with all my force, just for the fun of it.

If you haven't heard a marshmallow hit bare skin really hard yet, you're missing out. Man, it sends you to heaven once you hear that the first time. 😌

Enough yapping, here are the results!!

I hope you liked my post, Thank you for your time!!!
