"Speak, listen, answer me— what the thunder says, the forest understands" OP “Movement”

If you are the amber mare, I am the path of blood. If you are the first snowfall, I am the one who lights the fire at dawn. If you are the tower of darkness, I am the burning nail in your forehead. If you are the morning tide, I am the song of the first bird.

Si tú eres la cesta con naranjas

yo soy la luz del sol

Si tú eres el altar de piedra

yo soy la mano sacrílega

Si tú eres la tierra en reposo

If you are the basket of oranges, I am the sunlight. If you are the stone altar, I am the sacrilegious hand. If you are the earth at rest,

I am the green reed If you are the gust of wind I am the fire beneath the earth If you are the mouth of the river I am the mouth of the moss If you are the forest among the clouds I am the axe that cuts them down If you are the desecrated city

yo soy la lluvia de consagración

Si tú eres la montaña dorada

yo soy los brazos rojos del liquen

Si tú eres el sol que asciende

yo soy el camino de sangre

Para tener relaciones sexuales

I am the rain of consecration If you are the golden mountain I am the red arms of the lichen If you are the rising sun I am the path of blood To have sex

Intense sunlight on the girl's eyes should be avoided. Shade is also not recommended if the lover's back is getting sunburned while making love. Dewy meadows are better than yellow ones, but coarse sand is even more suitable.

Not near the hills, because the terrain is rocky, nor near bodies of water.

The bed is a small kingdom for this great love. Bodies must be as clean as a vast meadow: so that no valley or mountain remains hidden, and the lovers may enjoy all its paths. Darkness does not hide true love. The sky must be blue and gentle, clear and round like a ceiling

y entonces

and then the girl won't see the Finger of God. The bodies are unobtrusive but always active, the lungs are open, the sentences are brief.

Making love is complicated, but you learn as you go. “Filling a lifeless, gray plane with a vibrant, crisp, moving, uninterrupted arabesque that can be recalled without confusion: this is the language of the dancer.”

In 1930, Federico García Lorca reminds us of what dance means and has always meant: a trail left by invisible words and a poem that leaves its mark on our emotions, that strikes us and soars in every gesture, that radiates in every expression, and that reverberates in every step.

The intensity of the fleeting moment that beats within a body, finding refuge there, and from which it bursts forth to become eternal. Like the poet, who captures on paper a story etched with ink and pores. Projected from the veins.

Dancing is living in the moment. It is perceiving sensations and allowing that perception to become the essence of all feelings, forms, and content. But we must never forget our roots.

When people ask me about the nature of my work, I always say that it’s about the very essence of it—how each of its components comes together to form a story. A story that showcases depth, subtlety, and a powerful handling of energy.

It is a quest for movement, order, and design. It is about learning to laugh at ourselves, at our interactions, at exaggeration, and at softening our words; it is about the blend of pleasure and effort, along with the elevation of the madness, passion, and fantasy that each dancer so clearly brings to the stage.

At its best, dance can be something sublime, even if it falls short of perfection. We must challenge the traditional and conservative mindset that much of our education and training has fostered, and replace old beliefs with new, more progressive ones.

And it’s essential to remember that we should dance a little every day… but never in front of a reflection. Lucía Lacarra, recently appointed artistic director of the Víctor Ullate Ballet, “breaks through” the frosted glass of one of the Teatros del Canal’s performance spaces and shares her thoughts with us. She takes us beyond Madrid. We can see our own stories in her gaze. Her arms act as her pen, and her feet as her wings.

Question: Is dance a metaphor for life, a parallel to it? Answer: Dance has been my way of life, my way of communicating, of experiencing things... The experiences I’ve had and the feelings I’ve felt on stage are incomparable to what anyone might feel in everyday life, where the very fact of existing forces you to hold back.

On stage, you can suffer intensely, and you can enjoy yourself intensely. Dance has been my way of breathing, and for me, the goal wasn’t to dance with my body, but with my soul and my heart. I think that’s what makes the difference, since there are many extraordinary dancers who perform impressive physical feats… but what truly moves someone isn’t just the visual aspect of dance, but its emotional aspect.

Q: How do you achieve that blend of technique and emotion? A: That balance is the hardest thing to achieve because technique involves control, and that control can work against emotion. It’s a bit like being logical or being sensitive. I work on technique in class every day, but for me, it’s simply a vocabulary.

It's like being a writer: everyone knows the words, but it's the “how” they're used that matters. It's language that allows me to express emotions. I'm very strict and disciplined, but once I'm on stage, that's not what matters most.

When you’ve performed a piece with full awareness, it becomes ingrained in your body. And even if there are mistakes, in the end what the audience picks up on isn’t whether one step was more perfect than the last, but how you interpreted it. We’re artists, not gymnasts, and no one will judge us.

P: Tu corazón y tu mente están conectados a tu cuerpo.. R: Incluso cuando no estoy realizando ninguna actividad, mi cuerpo permanece en movimiento, no puedo estar totalmente inactiva.

Q: Your heart and mind are connected to your body. A: Even when I'm not doing anything, my body keeps moving; I can't be completely inactive.
