I Missed My Dream Appointment

Never make an appointment in a dream.

While it is easy to make an appointment with an important person in a dream. Keeping the dream in a total nightmare.

The first problem is that space seems to bend in dreams. While going to the appointment might be a simple matter of going down two blocks and turning right. The actually directions in the dream might have you fording a stream or going over a mountain pass.

Driving to appointment might seem like a dream, but which car are you going to use? There are four or five cars to choose from. And when you have four or five cars to choose from will find that you have a bunch a different key rings with oddly shaped keys.

Riding a bike to the critical appoint might seem like a good idea. Riding a bike seems like a dream if you happen to be lying on your stomach and clinging to a pillow. But when you role over on your side, you will find yourself in a strange cycling position where your feet at sticking out to the side of the bike and peddling in air.

The only really nice thing about riding a bike in a dream is that, even though the ground is covered in snow and you are wearing pajamas, it is still cozy and warm.

The next problem about scheduling an appointment in a dream is that the people are not helpful. So, the appointment is at 1:40. When you ask someone the time, they will just mumble the answer.

Clocks are of no help in a dream because all of the dream clocks seem to come from a nightmare scape where there is a large number of strangely shaped hands pointing to archaic digits on the clock face.

So, getting to the dream appointment is a nightmare. In the rare change that you make it to the dream appoinment, you are likely to get there just a little bit early.

Now, what happens if you are early to your dream appointment. You are likely to turn your head slightly and you will find yourself in a dream department store filled with dream merchandise.

This means that you will have to find your way through all the departments of the dream department store and through a maze shaped mall back to the scheduled location of your dream interview.

Speaking of dream malls, you are likely to find they contain dream bookstores. Dream bookstores are wonderful in theory, but none of the titles in the store make any sense.

Anyway, to make a pathetic story less pathetic. I missed my dream appointment. I tell you, it was a nightmare.
